I started learning the violin at the age of ten, and since then it has been a fundamental part of my life, enabling me to find music and companionship in every place I have lived, including Germany.  I am very happy and proud to be a member of this wonderful orchestra.  Sometime during my sixth decade I embraced the adventure of learning a new clef and have now fallen in love with the viola. I joined as a first violin, lead the seconds for a number of years and now enjoy leading the viola section.  When I am not rehearsing with TSO, I play a lot of chamber music for pleasure (sometimes for profit as well!), am part of a the newly founded Lyric Chamber Orchestra and of the Greenwood Consort baroque ensemble, and I also do some teaching with Saturday Morning Music in Totnes.
