I started learning the violin at the age of ten, and since then it has been a fundamental part of my life, enabling me to find music and companionship in every place I have lived, including Germany.  I am very happy and proud to be a member of this wonderful orchestra and regard it as my musical family. I didn't realise until I joined the committee how much work went on in the background, and I am pleased now to be in a position to give something back.Sometime during my sixth decade I embraced the adventure of learning a new clef and have now fallen in love with the viola. I joined as a first violin, lead the seconds for a number of years and now love leading the (vunderful)  viola section.  When I am not rehearsing with TSO, I play a lot of chamber music for pleasure (and occasionally for profit as well), am part of a the Lyric Chamber Orchestra and of the Greenwood Consort baroque ensemble, and I also do some instrumental teaching.
