TSO is involved in many activities - not just concerts. We do educational work, live talks with orchestra, promotion and performance of new works by living (and especially local composers) and regularly perform contemporary pieces of music.

All these activities have associated costs - hire of music and instruments is one of the main ones; a day in schools costs £1700; plus all the costs of running a full symphony orchestra.
